My wife Michele and I went to an embroidery trade show, as she was interested in embroidery as a hobby and as something to do when she retires in a few years. We had to register in order to get free tickets to the show. One of the questions on the form was "Company Name". Off the top of my head I said "Mercur Hill Design Studio", and as such our hobby had a name.

mareanphoto.com came about when the previous web service I used went out of business. I needed a place to post pictures from the events my grandkids were involved in, and SmugMug provided just the tools to make it an easy and fun place to be.

mareanphoto seemed to be an easy name for friends to remember, so it would be easy to find on the web. Calling it a division of Mercur Hill Design Studio is just kind of a hoot.

We are pleased to be able to show you pictures of our kids, grandkids, and their friends in the many activities they enjoy. We hope you will enjoy them. We have been very flattered and pleased that there have been over 250,000 image views of these pictures since the fall of 2008! Thanks to the tools provided to mareanphoto.com by SmugMug, we are also able to allow you to purchase copies of any of the pictures that you may like. Pictures may be purchased in any number of sizes and types.
